My Appetite is Back!!

12 Jan

Hey Lovelies!! Thank you all so much for you well wishes on my last post. My tummy and everything else inside my body is doing just great now!

There was a couple days though after I came home from the hospital where something weird happened. I wasn’t hungry. Just thinking about food made me feel kinda nauseous. Hence why I haven’t’ been blogging much. What good is a food blog if you don’t want to eat anything? I haven’t even really wanted to read blogs, or even spend hours on pinterest like I normally do. It was really, really weird. Especially for someone who gets so much joy out of eating and making food.

But, those days are behind me, and I think I’m getting my appetite back. I think it may have been the antibiotics I was on. So glad that’s all over.

I thought I’d share with you some photos of some recent eats. It’s too bad I didn’t get to snap any shots of hospital food. It actually wasn’t that bad! They even had a pretty decent veggie burger.

uummmm Panera? yes please. Mediterranean veggie sandwich and soy chai tea latte.

Dayia pepperjack grilled cheese sandwich on Whole Food’s sourdough bread (sourdough= best grilled cheese. ever.) and Amy’s chicken less noodle soup. Perfect for a cold winter night. (Which we haven’t had many of btw. I bet Al Gore is ecstatic because now it’s probably impossible to not believe in global warming.)

(Sorry for the fuzzy picture- it was taken on my (non-smart) phone.) Last night my family went out to eat at a cute little local burger place, not for the burgers, but because someone told us that they have the ‘best coke and breadsticks in town’. I don’t normally drink soda, but I got a cherry coke and they add their own cherry syrup, it was amazing. I don’t normally use the word “fresh” to describe soda, but I would this one! They also had a pretty decent salad bar!

That’s all for now, but hopefully I’ll be in the kitchen baking something soon so I can share it with you all! I’ve got a long list of things that I want to try out and make, so be prepared for all that!

What recent eats have you been digging lately? What are your favorite grilled cheese ingredients?

Isn’t Panera Bread awesome? (Though it’s St. Louis Bread Co here.) Their chai lattes are my favorite. Way better than Starbucks!

I don’t do grilled cheese too often, but I love adding thin slices of apples and a pinch of cinnamon. Oh, and I agree–sourdough makes the best grilled cheese!

So glad you’re feeling better! I always know there’s something wrong when I’m not hungry!

Yay for appetites! Glad yours is getting back to normal :-)

My absolute favorite grilled cheese ingredient (aside from the bread and cheese) is freshly sliced tomato. It’s great for that grilled-cheese-tomato-soup taste (without needing to actually make the soup!).

glad you are back and eating good again! :D
on your last comment- how you said you don’t like cheese so much- ME TOO. i actually tried a tiny bit that was from greenfed beef not to long ago and i just hated it. it didn’t stomach well with me. :D but i do love nutritional yeast and its cheezy flavor

YAY! Glad your feeling better! :) My favorite grilled cheese ingredients are turkey deli meat, cheese of course and sometimes turkey pepperoni. :)

Grilled cheese & hot sauce! I love spicy food haha. But I’m glad you’re feeling better! I know, hospital food can actually be really good. I once had THE BEST steamed brown rice there. I don’t know what it was about it, but it was perfect. I almost considered going back there for lunch haha.

Have you seen the recipe on Pinterest for avocado grilled cheese? I haven’t made it yet but I need to!

I’m so glad that you got your appetite back. Hospital food is definitely not my favorite. :)

    I’ve been digging nut butter. <3 <3

    Glad you’re doing better! :)
Panera! My favorite restaurant (at least one of them).
And sourdough definitely makes the best grilled cheese – no doubt! :D I don’t have grilled cheese often, but when I do, I like the basics – cheddar cheese and bread! Mmmm

Mmm, I LOVE grilled cheese! I never put anything fancy in it… just as much cheese as will fit inside :)
